Jamshedpur, Dec 6: “The BJP-led NDA government has set the ED after me for disrupting my political career. But I am not the one to be cowed down by the evil design of the Centre. I am serving the state with full honesty and integrity by implementing numerous public welfare schemes to improve the quality of life of the underprivileged,” said Chief Minister Hemant Soren while addressing the JMM workers in Jamshedpur on Wednesday evening.

The chief minister arrived at the Sidhgora Town Hall on the eastern fringe of the steel city on Friday evening after attending an hour-long public meeting at Kharsawan in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

Addressing the party workers, Hemant Soren called upon them to tighten their belts as the party has to ensure sweeping the assembly seats in Kolhan in the ensuing assembly elections next year.

The chief minister also urged the party men to make the people of the region aware of the developmental schemes carried out by the state government across the region.

Transport Minister Champai Soren and Ghatsila MLA Ramdas Soren who were present there among other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier in the afternoon, Soren had been to Kharsawan in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district where at a public meeting announced a series of 90 public welfare schemes worth Rs 240 crores.

This apart, the chief minister distributed agricultural equipment and appliances worth crores of rupees in pursuance of his popular program “Apka Yojna, Apki Sarkar, Apke Dwar. ”

During the public meeting which lasted for over two, the chief minister claimed the earlier BJP government to have cheated the innocent and docile tribals during the past 20 years.

Soren said he had to bring about Abua Awas Yojana as the Centre-sponsored Prime Minister Awas Yojana came to a standstill here in the state.

Significantly, when the CM arrived at the helipad in Kharsawan, the atmosphere surrounding the area resonated with slogans like “Hemant Hai to Himmat Hai” by the JMM supporters.
