Ranchi, February 4: Chief Minister Champai Soren on Sunday directed the state’s top brass to constitute a special investigation team (SIT) to probe vandalism at the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) building.
The vandals were protesting against leaking the question paper of the CGL examination conducted by the JSSC.
He said the case should be investigated immediately, and the culprits should be arrested.
He said strict action should be taken against the criminals who committed the incidents to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
Crime-free Jharkhand
Holding a high-level meeting related to law and order and crime control in the state, Soren told the officials that crime-free Jharkhand is the priority of the state government.

State Chief Secretary L. Khyangte, DGP Ajay Kumar Singh, Additional Director General of Police (Operations) Sanjay A. Lathkar, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Chaubey were present.
Cases for murder, women harassment
He directed the officials to ensure prompt investigation of dowry death cases. He added that the investigation should be completed in time so that strict action can be taken against the culprits.
Crime control in Ranchi
The chief minister directed the officials to pay special attention to crime control in Ranchi, Dumka, Dhanbad, Giridih, Jamshedpur and Hazaribag because if any crime occurs in such places, it hurts the entire state.
In the meeting, Soren said that such reports are also being received that some gangs of people of a criminal nature from within the jail are carrying out criminal incidents in different areas of the state, identify such people and take strict action against them. The chief minister told the officials that posting SP and DSP in ATS should be done soon.
Resources for Crime Control
The chief minister directed the officials to purchase all the resources for crime control immediately.
