Ranchi, December 20: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today held key meetings to strengthen Jharkhand’s energy and industrial sectors.
In the first meeting, Ashok Kumar Sehgal, CEO of Patratu Vidyut Nigam Limited (PVNL), along with senior officials, informed the Chief Minister that commercial power generation has started from one of PVNL’s 800 MW units since November 5, 2025. They expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for enabling timely commissioning, marking a significant step toward electricity self-reliance in Jharkhand.
CM Soren emphasised that the energy sector is a top priority, with modernisation and infrastructure strengthening underway. He also urged PVNL to launch initiatives for youth skill development alongside energy expansion.

Later, the Chief Minister met with a delegation from the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries at his Kanke Road residence. The group discussed industrial development, policy implementation, and challenges faced by industrial units in the state.
Soren highlighted the government’s commitment to industrial growth, calling it the backbone of Jharkhand’s economy. He assured that all concerns raised by the Federation would be addressed promptly and stressed efforts to create a simpler, more business-friendly environment to boost investment and employment opportunities.
The delegation included President Aditya Malhotra, Vice President Ram Bangar, General Secretary Rohit Agarwal, Joint Secretaries Navjot Alang and Rohit Poddar, Treasurer Anil Agarwal, and Executive Members Mukesh Agarwal, Manish Shraf, and Dr. Abhishek Ramadheen.
