Jamshedpur, August 29: A wave of emotions, tributes, and heavy gathering marked the ‘shradh’ ceremony of Jharkhand’s late minister Ramdas Soren at Ghorabandha in Jamshedpur on Friday.
The solemn event witnessed the presence of several top dignitaries, including Chief Minister Hemant Soren with his wife and legislator Kalpana Soren, and Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, along with ministers, senior officials, and political leaders from across the state.
Heavy Rush and Security at Ghorabandha
Since early morning, Ghorabandha remained abuzz with activity. The arrival of convoys of vehicles, prominent leaders, and large crowds created an atmosphere of heightened anticipation. To manage the situation, strict security arrangements were put in place.
A significant number of police personnel were deployed along the roadsides and near the venue to ensure smooth law and order.

Leaders Pay Floral Tributes
CM Hemant Soren, accompanied by his wife Kalpana Soren, paid floral tributes to the late leader and participated in the rituals. He personally met the grieving family members, offering condolences and assuring full cooperation from the state government.
The CM was seen consoling the family and expressed solidarity during this moment of grief.
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar also joined the ceremony, extending homage to the departed leader.
Along with him, several ministers, MLAs, and bureaucrats attended the ritualistic feast (shradh bhoj) organized in memory of Ramdas Soren.

Continuous Influx of Political Leaders
From Friday morning, there was a steady flow of leaders and officials arriving at the venue. Prominent leaders from across Jharkhand paid their respects, underlining the stature and contribution of Ramdas Soren in state politics.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren arrived by helicopter, with a helipad specially arranged near the family residence in Ghorabandha for the occasion.

The shradh bhoj was organized at a football ground near the late leader’s residence in Ghorabandha.
Thousands of supporters, locals, and dignitaries participated, reflecting the wide respect Ramdas Soren commanded during his lifetime.
Remembering Ramdas Soren
Ramdas Soren, who served as a minister in the Jharkhand government, was known for his grassroots connect and strong advocacy for tribal rights and social justice.
His demise on August 15 has left a deep void in state politics, particularly among the Adivasi community and the people of Jamshedpur.
