Ranchi, Sept 11: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday handed over appointment letters to newly recruited candidates under the Urban Development and Housing Department and launched the new logo and website of Jharkhand Tourism and the Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation (JTDC). The move, he said, marks a decisive step towards both urban development and placing the state’s tourist destinations on the global map.
‘Your Role in State Development is Crucial’
Congratulating the 19 newly appointed candidates, the Chief Minister urged them to work with “devotion and efficiency” for the betterment of Jharkhand.
“From today, you are part of the government machinery. Your responsibility in providing better civic facilities and services to urban residents is vital,” Soren said at the appointment ceremony held at the Jharkhand Ministry.

Planned Urban Growth a Priority
Soren stressed the urgent need for systematic and planned development of cities as migration from villages continues to swell urban populations.
“If cities expand in a disorderly manner, it will lead to serious challenges. Planned development is the only way to ensure modern civic facilities while avoiding future crises,” he said.

Tourism: The Next Growth Engine
Highlighting Jharkhand’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, the Chief Minister underlined the untapped potential of tourism in the state.
“Our government is determined to showcase Jharkhand’s landscapes, heritage and culture to the country and the world. With the launch of the new tourism logo and website, we can now present our attractions to a global audience,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that promoting tourism will not only enhance the state’s image but also strengthen its economy and generate new employment opportunities. “Tourism will create jobs, boost local products and benefit even those in remote rural areas,” he said.
