Ranchi, Sept 10: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today launched 236 mobile veterinary clinics to take care of live stocks across the State.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the objective and goal of his government and the Agriculture Department has been to strengthen the farmers in the State.

He said that the bank and ATM card of the farmers are their farms and livestock.

“They fulfil every need of the rural farmer families,” he added.

The chief minister said that his government is fulfilling the objective of providing a market for forest produce and is also committed to ensuring that the villagers get the right price for forest produce.

“If a proper platform is provided for farming, various animal husbandry and forest produce, then rural farmers can be saved from many problems to come,” he maintained.

The chief minister said that Jharkhand is a state of villages. “Most of the people living in rural areas are associated with farming activities. In the last 4 years, the state government has implemented many important schemes and formulated policies for the farmers, which will prove to be a milestone in the times to come,” he said.

Emphasis on alternative system of farming

The chief minister said that his government has laid special emphasis on the alternative system of farming for the farmers in the state. “The state government is trying to take the farmers forward by connecting them with traditional systems along with farming,” he added.

Agricultural loans up to Rs 2 lakh waived

Soren said that the state government has decided to waive agricultural loans up to Rs 2 lakh of farmers.

“The state government is now providing better quality animals to farmer families for agricultural work. For the first time, the state government has made such a policy in which all the animals provided to the farmers are insured so that the insurance amount can be made available to them in case of the death of the animals,” he said.

On this occasion, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, MP Sukhdev Bhagat, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, MLA Kalpana Soren, and Chairman of Jharkhand Gau Seva Commission Rajiv Ranjan Prasad were present.
