Ranchi, Feb 28: Chief Minister Hemant Soren presented a significant gift to state employees on Friday by launching a health insurance scheme at an event held in the auditorium of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly.

Addressing the attendees, CM Hemant Soren said, “Today is a very special and personally fulfilling moment. Across the country, people are struggling with various health issues. Conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes have become increasingly common, and the cost of medicines and medical treatment continues to rise.”
Free Treatment Under the Scheme
Under this scheme, state employees, pensioners, members of the Legislative Assembly, former legislators, university teachers, and other government employees will receive free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. In cases of serious illnesses, medical expenses up to Rs 10 lakh will be covered.

Air Ambulance Facility for Emergencies
Additionally, beneficiaries will have access to an air ambulance in critical situations. To avail of the scheme’s benefits, applicants must register online through the dedicated portal developed by JAPT.
Health Minister: A Commitment to Better Healthcare
State Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari described the launch as a proud moment, stating, “Today, the dream of our Chief Minister Hemant Soren is becoming a reality. With a doctor as the Health Minister and the state’s leadership in Hemant Soren’s hands, it is our responsibility to enhance healthcare facilities across Jharkhand.”
Secretariat Service Association Welcomes the Initiative
The Jharkhand Secretariat Service Association has welcomed the launch of the State Employee Health Insurance Scheme. In a joint statement, Association President Dhruv Prasad and General Secretary Siddharth Shankar Besra expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister, Health Minister, Chief Secretary, and Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department.
They also voiced confidence that this initiative would serve as a milestone in the welfare of state employees, aligning with the vision of “Swasth Jharkhand, Vikasit Jharkhand” (Healthy Jharkhand, Developed Jharkhand).
