THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi, March 10: Chief Minister Champai Soren today said that the government is committed to creating a better and stronger infrastructure system in the State.

He added, “In this connection, a network of roads and bridges is being laid because this creates a new development corridor.”

Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of a bridge on the Barakar river at Virgram-Barabendiya of Jamtara-Nirsa road in Jamtara district, he said that Barabendiya Bridge is a true tribute to those people who took water samadhi due to a boat accident in the Barakar river.

Path of development

The chief minister said that with the construction of the Barabendiya Bridge, the road connectivity of the entire Santhal Paragana, including Jamtara with Dhanbad, will be strengthened. “The distance from Jamtara to Nirsa will be half of what it was before. In such a situation, transportation will be convenient and time-saving. Not only this, the opening of this bridge will boost tourism. New employment opportunities will be created, and economic development will gain momentum,” he pointed out.

We always do what we say

The chief minister said that our government does not believe in announcements. “We fulfil what we say. Today, the government’s plans are coming to the ground. The person sitting in the last row of society is getting its benefit. We have taken steps towards providing food, clothing and shelter to the poor and needy here. No person here will be deprived of his rights. The steps we have taken towards beautifying Jharkhand will not stop,” he pointed out.

Rs 52 crore worth of assets distributed

On this occasion, the chief minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of several other development schemes. At the same time, assets worth Rs 52 crore 80 lakh were distributed among 69631 beneficiaries.

On this occasion, Minister Basant Soren, MLA Irfan Ansari, District Board Chairman Radha Rani Soren,

Principal Secretary of Road Construction Department Sunil Kumar and Secretary to the Chief Minister Arwa Rajkamal were present, among others.
