Dhanbad, Feb 6: Coal belt Congress leaders and workers have hailed the appointment of Brajendra Prasad Singh in the state election committee and thanked national president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Rahul Gandhi, Jharkhand in-charge Gulam Ahmed Mir and state president Rajesh Thakur.

Congress leaders said that Brajendra Prasad Singh is the state’s senior and most dedicated leader. He has served the party while working on different posts. His appointment to the state election committee would instil new energy among the youth of the region in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

All India Congress Committee general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal announced 29 Jharkhand State Election Committee members, of which Brajendra Prasad Singh and Jaleswar Mahto of Dhanbad have been made members.

Brajendra Prasad Singh is senior vice-president of the State Cong Committee and chairman of the State Disciplinary Committee. Brajendra Prasad Singh, a senior lawyer of state, has more than 50 years of political career. He began innings in Cong as block president and remained in the post of Dhanbad district president for several years.

Last year, he was made vice-president of the state committee and chairman of the disciplinary committee.

Dhanbad district president Santosh Singh, executive president Rashid Raja Ansari, senior leader Madan Mahto, former Lok Sabha candidate of party Bijay Kumar Singh, Ramgopal Bhubania, Ashok Singh, Manoj Yadav, Yogendra Singh Yogi, Ramesh Roy have congratulated Brajendra Prasad Singh for his appointment and thanked national office bearers.
