Ranchi, February 10: BJP State General Secretary Pradeep Verma today said the ‘White Paper’ on the Indian economy released by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is the mirror of the truth that a family of the Congress Party had not allowed to be revealed to the country.

Addressing a press conference, BJP general secretary Pradeep Verma said Congress’ ‘black paper’ is hidden in BJP’s ‘white paper’.

He said that the ‘white paper’ also proves that it is not true that only the economists from Cambridge, Oxford or Harvard or the Governor of the Reserve Bank can take the country’s economy to greater heights.

When son of a poor person becomes PM

“The truth is that when a son of a poor person, who has lived in poverty, has grown up in poverty, who has a strong will, and who has the passion to take the country to the forefront in the world reaches the post of Prime Minister of the country, not only does the dignity of this post increase, but it also creates new dimensions in the welfare of the poor as well as in the economy of the country,” he added.

“This White Paper is a witness to how the country’s economy has improved under the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 2014 to 2024 as compared to the period of Congress’s UPA government between 2004 and 2014.

He said that the UPA not only harmed the country’s economy but also looted it.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee government

He said that despite inheriting a healthy economy from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, we get information about how the UPA turned the country’s economy into a non-performing economy,” he added.

He said that when the NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee took charge, the NPA ratio in the public sector banks was 16.0 per cent, and when it left office, it was 7.8 per cent. This ratio climbed to 12.3% in September 2013 due to political interference by the UPA government in public sector banks’ commercial loan decisions.

Super PM

He said that no one was ready to accept the Prime Minister who was there at that time as the Prime Minister, and all the ministers in the government considered themselves Prime Ministers who were working on the orders of the Super PM. The result was that scam after scam kept happening.

He said that the country’s GDP could also increase by building toilets, building houses for the people can also increase the country’s GDP, and providing electricity, water, and gas connections; Ayushman cards to the houses can also increase the economic growth rate of the country.

Said that then the country saw the 2G scam, and now we have the most comprehensive coverage of the population under 4G with the lowest rates and the fastest rollout of 5G in the world in 2023.

He said that Congress had policy paralysis and infrastructure was not a priority. Now, the wheels of a virtuous cycle of investment, development, employment, entrepreneurship and savings leading to more investment and productivity have started,” Verma said.
