Deoghar, March 8: Loudmouth Congress MLA Irfan Ansari offered prayers at the Lord Shiva temple on Mahashivratri in his home constituency, Jamtara, in Santhal Pargana.
Later, talking with the media, he claimed that he had faith in Hindu deities and that Lord Shiv had power. He prayed to Lord Shiva to give power to everyone.
When asked about fasting, he admitted that he referred to it as devotion to Lord Shiva. He also challenged the Hindu leaders to observe Roza.
This is not the first time he has offered prayers in a temple. During the last assembly by-election in Madhupur, he had offered prayer in Baba BaidhNath Temple.
However, Hafijul Ansari, who won the bypoll on the JMM ticket, condemned the act just after announcing his victory from the Madhaupur assembly seat.
