Chainpur police got a whiff of it through its Chowkidar and villagers that a body was in trench cum bund on March 8.

As the body was not buried in the true sense, but it was beneath the earth in trench cum bund, so Chainpur police went for exhuming the body by getting a magistrate on the spot during the exhumation.

The body was exhumed in the presence of the CO Chainpur, who acted as magistrate.

The body was sent to the MMCH Daltonganj for post-mortem. Axe or Tangi’s blunt blow had caused her death. There were deep blunt injuries on her head, said the MMCH Daltonganj sources.

They left their home at Salutwa village under the Chainpur police station and took shelter in their relative’s house at Satbarwa police station limits.
