Ranchi, Dec 31: Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta has instructed all Superintendents of Police (SPs) to compile comprehensive profiles of criminals associated with Maoist groups, splinter groups, and criminal gangs. These profiles, part of the “Know Your Enemy” initiative, are to be shared with subordinate police officers and personnel to ensure they have detailed information about these groups.
During a review meeting on anti-Naxal operations in Naxal-affected districts, Gupta thoroughly assessed ongoing efforts and strategies aimed at eradicating extremism. He issued several directives to bolster the intelligence system and accelerate actions to dismantle Maoist and criminal networks.

Know Your Enemy
The DGP specifically ordered SPs to provide the “Know Your Enemy” information to police officers posted at pickets within their districts. He emphasized the importance of promptly verifying intelligence received from state units and acting on it without delay. Gupta also directed SPs to physically verify details in the profiles of Maoist group members, splinter groups, and criminal gangs to ensure accuracy.
The meeting was attended by key senior officials, including Inspector General of Police (CRPF) Saket Kumar Singh, Inspector General of Police (Ranchi Range) Akhilesh Jha, Inspector General of Police (Operations) Amol Vinukant Homkar, Deputy Inspector General of Police (STF) Indrajit Mahtha, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Special Branch) Kartik S., Colonel K.A. Khan from Police Headquarters, Superintendent of Police (Operations/Naxal) Amit Renu, and Superintendent of Police (SIB) Nathu Singh Meena. Additionally, all Regional Inspectors General of Police, Regional Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police (SQ) Gaya, FTR SSB Patna, and Senior Superintendents of Police/Superintendents of Police participated via video conferencing.
This coordinated effort underscores the department’s commitment to eliminating extremist and criminal elements across the state.
