Dhanbad, January 18: The Dhanbad Rail Division of East Central Railway (ECR) has achieved first position in revenue collection from freight loading in the current financial years 2023-24 among 57 rail divisions in the country.
ECR Hajipur general manager Anil Kumar Khandelwal informed this at a meeting of the Dhanbad Rail Division’s Parliamentary Committee held here today.
MPs present
Dhanbad MP PN Singh, Chatra MP Sunil Kumar Singh, Palamu MP BD Ram and Giridih MP Chandra Prakash Choudhary were present and gave suggestions for improvement of passenger amenities and infrastructural development at different railway stations.

The representatives of Koderma MP, Union Minister of State for Education Annpurna Devi, Hazaribagh MP Jayant Sinha, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, MP Ajay Pratap Singh, MP Pakourilal, MP Vijay Kumar, MP Mahua Majhi, MP Samir Oraon, MP Deepak Prakash and MP Aditya Prasad attended the meeting.
New railway projects and passenger facilities
ECR GM Khandelwal on the occasion gave accounts of the development of new projects launched in the Dhanbad Railway Division for passenger facilities.
Khandelwal said that besides launching the Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat world-class train, two other new trains, Ranchi-New Giridih station Intercity Express and Dhanbad-Chandrapur passenger have also been started.

“An automatic ticket vending machine has been installed at four major railway stations of the division. Besides it, under the ‘One Station One Product’ policy a stall has been installed at 11 main stations and trolley has been provided at 15 stations for enhancing passenger facilities”, said the ECR GM.
Khandelwal highly appreciated the suggestion of the MPs and said that these valuable proposals would help immensely in framing rail development projects in the future.
Dhanbad Rail Division manager (DRM) Kamal Kishore Sinha and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
