Dhanbad, May 28: Shunting employees of the Dhanbad Rail Division now will get safety uniforms and tools soon.
The Railway Board has in this regard directed all general managers (GM) to provide safety uniforms and kits to shunting employees.
Railway engineering department
Now points men, gate men, cabin men, and liver men of the railway circulation department will benefit from this directive. To date, only employees of the railway engineering department have been given the facility of safety uniforms and tools.

Md Ziauddin, additional general secretary of the East Central Railway Karmchari Union (ECRKU) cum PNM in-charge of Dhanbad Rail Division, giving this information today said that the All India Railway Men’s Federation and ECRKU had been demanding this for a long time.
Proper safety uniform
Points men, gate men, cabin men, and liver men play major roles in rail circulation. “Their work is very sensitive and sometimes they become injured in lack of proper safety uniform. The safety uniform will check the incident and they will feel safe,” said Md Ziauddin.
Under safety uniform, employees will get safety shoes, raincoats, winter jackets, gloves and a torch.
