Ranchi, Feb 15: Renowned neuro and spine surgeon Dr. Sanjay Kumar has been elected as the President of the Neuro Science Association of Eastern India.

Previously, Dr. Sanjay served as the Secretary of this association for many years, contributing significantly to its growth. He is currently the Secretary of the Jharkhand Neurosciences Society and also serves as the President of the Jharkhand PHD Chamber of Commerce of India.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar has played a key role in advancing neuroscience, not only in Jharkhand but across Eastern India. He has saved numerous lives through complex surgeries, and his contributions to neurosurgery continue to be a boon for patients. With over 30 years of experience in micro neurosurgery and minimally invasive spinal surgery, he remains a leading figure in the field.

A New Challenge

In 2001, as part of his mission to advance neuroscience, Dr. Sanjay Kumar established a neurosurgical centre and joined Apollo Hospital, where he pioneered the first dedicated neurosurgery department in Jharkhand.

Currently, he is the Managing Director of Curesta Hospital and has been instrumental in launching neuro and spine departments in several major institutions. Curesta Hospital is also set to open a new 285-bed facility in Irba, on the outskirts of Ranchi, by April.

After being elected president, Dr. Sanjay Kumar acknowledged the challenges ahead, emphasizing that there is still much to be done in the field of neuroscience. He expressed his commitment to further advancing neuroscience in Jharkhand and across Eastern India.
