Dhanbad, April 10: Firing another salvo on MLA Dhulu Mahto, Independent MLA Saryu Roy has alleged that the BJP Dhanbad candidate has been involved in money laundering and purchased land in the name of his 21-year-old son.
In a disclosure letter to BJP national leaders, Saryu has alleged that BJP’s Dhanbad Lok Sabha candidate purchased land plots worth Rs 2.06 crore two years ago in his son’s name.
“His son Prashant Kumar is unemployed. The question is, from which sources did he (Prasant Kumar) get Rs 2.06 crores to purchase 80 decimal of land? If he runs business he would have paid tax. But he has done nothing which indicates money laundering”, said MLA Roy.
BJP candidate Dhulu Mahto, when contacted, said that he would not make any comment on an allegation of Saryu Roy. “People of Dhanbad will give him a befitting reply on May 25”, said the three times MLA.
Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy in his disclosure letter to BJ top leaders, including party’ Jharkhand in-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee, has alleged that in 2022, he (Mahto) purchased three plots of land in the name of his son Prasant Kumar (21) at the cost of Rs 2.06 crores.

The independent MLA, in his disclosure claims to have a copy of land registration papers. The mutation of those registered land plots is being done in the circle office.
Total land is 80 decimals based in the Nawadih area of Dhanbad Sadarr block and registered in three plots. MLA Saryu Roy, in his disclosure report to the BJP High command, has also attached detailed papers of stamp price of land registration. Stamp price was Rs 1,87000
As per Suryu Roy’s claim, Dhulu Mahto purchased the first plot of land (16 decimal) in Nawadih on January 5, 2022, at the cost of Rs 46,75000 in the name of Prasant Kumar ( 21) from Kamakhya Narayan Singh.
The second plot (56 decimal) was purchased on January 24, 202,2 at Rs 1 36,000 in the name of Prasant Kumar in Nawadih from Kamakhya Narayan Singh and Asha Devi of LC Road, Dhanbad. Stamp price was Rs 45,450.
The third plot (8 decimal) was purchased on April 29, 2022, in Nawadih at Rs 23,40,000 in the name of Prashant Kumar from Narayan Mandal of Koraitand. The stamp price was paid at Rs 93,600.
“Government price of all three plots is Rs 45,7000, Rs 136,3600 and Rs 23,40,000 respectively”, said Roy.
