Daltonganj, March 9: The BJP-nominated candidate for the Palamu Lok Sabha seat, Vishnu Dayal Ram, who is set to have a hat trick here, presented his road map today at a press conference held at the party headquarters here.
His road map includes standard higher education, adequate irrigation, and better surface connectivity.
Ram, a third-time nominee
Ram won the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP has fielded him for the third time from here.
Three BJP MLAs, Ramchander Chandravanshi, Alok Chourasia, and Pushpa Devi, were in total attendance at his press conference, giving a strong message that all the BJP legislators here and the party stand united with him. There is no political acrimony in the BJP.
BJP unity show
The three BJP MLAs excelled each other in praising V D Ram. District president Amit Tiwary steered the show. Tiwary gave a highly emotional speech today.
BJP veterans Shyam Narain Dubey, Prem Singh, Manoj Singh, Bipin Bihari Singh, Vibhakar Narain Pandey, Sheo Kr Mishra, etc., attended the press conference to further strengthen the party’s commitment to its candidate, V D Ram.

Land issue a roadblock to development
V D Ram was very discreet. He didn’t promise the moon. At the outset, he said, “Land issue withholds setting up of factory. I had sanctioned one energy sector plant, and it’s more than two years since the non-availability of land shelved down this plant.”
“There is a proposal for starting a medical college in Garhwa, but land comes in the way again,” he reminded.
Rajhara colliery
On being reminded that his five-year-old promise made in 2019 about the Rajhara colliery starting production remains a nonstarter even today, Ram said, “The issue of Rajhara colliery is hanging fire all for the jobs to be given to 20 people displaced by this colliery. I have put my foot down. First jobs to 20 oustees and then start production.”
He said the Rajhara Colliery has reached a consensus on giving jobs to four now. Once these four get jobs, I will see that this colliery gets operational.”
Again, when asked if the Rajhara colliery issue was again a poll stunt as he threw in 2019, Ram said, “I mean it. The Rajhara colliery will be functional.”
Rajhara Colliery has been shut over the last more than 12 years.
Mandal dam
V D Ram squarely blamed the state government for the Mandal dam, saying, “The state government is sitting tight on its share of funds to be given to people going to be displaced by the submergence. The central government has already given its share.”
Whether the Vande Bharat train will go via Daltonganj and will have a stoppage here, V D Ram looked sensible enough to explain that the railway has its indicators for which train will go by which route or which train will have a stoppage. It’s all about revenue that the railway thinks of most and first.
He said about the auctioned cement factory machines and tools at Japla, “The Wages of workers there have been pending for decades. Let this issue be settled first.”
