Dumka, March 3: The Spanish woman gangraped a couple of days back today recorded her statement under Section 164 of Cr PC.

She and her husband were brought to the court of Sub Judge Sharthak Sharam to record the statement under Section 164.

The three accused, Rajan Marandi, Pradeep Kisku, and Sukhlal Hembrom, belonging to Kunjo village under Hansdiha police station, were sent to jail after recording the victim’s statement recording and TI parade.

The 12-member FSL team, in the meantime, started its investigation today. The team found a ring of the victim from the place where she was brutalised.

Appeal for speedy trial: SP

Meanwhile, Dumka SP Pitamber Singh Kherwar said two SIT teams have been formed to look into the matter helping each other.

“The FSL and CID teams are jointly investigating the matter. We are trying to collect evidence scientifically. The rest of the accused have been identified and will soon be arrested. A separate team has been formed to capture them, and the raid continues.

The SP said he would appeal to the judiciary for a speedy trial to ensure justice for the victim and award the culprits exemplary punishment so that no one would dare to repeat the same.

Condemning the incident as shameful, the SP said the victim will be granted compensation as per the rule laid by the DLSA.

Notably, the Spanish woman was gangraped late on Friday night at Kurumahat, under the Hansdiha police station.

The woman and her husband, both bike enthusiasts, were camping in tents in Kunji village, Dumka. When the incident occurred, they were on a biking trip to Bhagalpur, Bihar.

The woman and her husband arrived in India on a tourist visa as part of an extensive journey across Asia. They travelled to Pakistan initially, then to Bangladesh, before reaching Dumka. Their next destination from Jharkhand was planned to be Nepal.
