Jharkhand govt’s announcement of Khatiyan-based job policy is just hypocrisy, says BJP

THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi, March 10: BJP state spokesperson and MLA Amit Mandal attacked the state government today.

Raising questions on the recent appointment of junior engineers in the Urban Development and Housing Department by the Jharkhand Government, Mandal said that the JMM-Congress-RJD government had made a local policy based on Khatiyan (land records) in the last assembly elections and given class III and IV category jobs to the state’s unemployed youth.

“Later, in the Assembly, the then Chief Minister Hemant Soren also announced that no outsider would be allowed to take a job in Jharkhand. When the Hemant government brought the Khatiyan-based local policy proposal of 1932 to the Assembly, the BJP supported and passed it. However, the government’s intention was not clear. The then Hemant government only did politics to send it to Raj Bhawan and the President. The result was zero,” he said.

Raghubar government’s job policy

He said that before this, the Raghubar government had made a local policy considering the cutoff of 1985, based on which more than one lakh youth were appointed, out of which 85% of the unemployed were residents of Jharkhand state.

He said that the JMM government did not make even a single appointment, and even if three to four thousand appointments were made, more than 70% of the people were appointed to unreserved seats.

Jharkhand govt gave just 4000 jobs: Mandal

The present government boasts everywhere that we have provided 50,000 jobs, but the reality is that the state government has yet to be able to provide more than three-four thousand jobs under JPSC and JSSC. There was the promise of five lakh appointments yearly, but the reality was only four thousand appointments in four and a half years. In that, too, most of the unreserved seats went to outsiders.

60:40 policy

He said the government’s claim that under the 60/40 scheme, we will stop outsiders from getting government jobs has yet to be completely successful.

He said that the BJP had also opposed the 60/40 policy. However, the state’s JMM government created an open-to-all situation by implementing 60/40.

The state government has reinstated the wrong agency and is selling all the seats, causing outsiders to enter jobs in Jharkhand.

He said that the appointments made in the Urban Development Department and Water Resources Department should be investigated to determine how most outsiders entered the appointments.

JPSC and JSSC

He said that the JSCC and the JPSC examinations are falling victim to corruption. “The passing of the candidates sequentially proves that the JMM government is selling jobs,” he alleged.

He said that if the government’s intentions had been clear, a CBI investigation would have been recommended by now, but the government would be involved in corruption. Hence, it is trying to save the real culprit in the name of investigation.

BJP MLA JP Patel and media in-charge Shivpujan Pathak attended the press conference.
