Dhanbad, Nov 2: The stage is set at Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU) Dumka for a two-day National Seminar scheduled to kick start from November 4.
The seminar is being organized by the university’s political science department on the subject of ‘Education and Employability’.
A university official said that the Governor (Chancellor of the universities) CP Radhakrishnan will address the seminar on the second day on November 5.
Besides the Governor, national and international scholars of different states including Indian Political Science Association general secretary and former vice-chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University Motihari (Bihar) Prof Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Haryana Dr Sushma Yadav, Jayprakash University Chapra’s former Vice-Chancellor Dr Harikesh Singh, School of Education, Indira Gandhi National Open University Professor Dr Chandrabhushan Sharma, Ranchi University English department head Dr Shayanti Banerjee, Col Prem Prakash, administrator of coal sector Surjit Das will also address the event.
SKMU political science HoD cum dean of social science (organizing committee chairman) Dr Jaynendra Yadav said that renowned professors of 20 universities and research scholars have also confirmed their participation in this gala event.
On the occasion, a souvenir would be also released. So far over a hundred papers of research scholars have been deposited.
Patron of the National Seminar Vice-Chancellor Dr Vimal Prasad Singh today held a meeting with concerned members and officials of the organizing committee to assess the preparation of the function.
An organizing committee has been set up with senior faculty members to hold the function successfully. Dr Sanjiv Kumar Sinha (organizing secretary), Dr Ajay Kumar Sinha (coordinator), Dr Amita Kumari of the history department (joint organizing secretary) and Dr Rajesh Yadav of the physics department (treasurer) are prominent members.
SKMU Teachers Association secretary Dr Santosh Sil said that all teachers, staff and students are involved in making this function of the university a grand success.
