Jharkhand govt, Usha Martin University to hold meet on development goals

 

 

THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi, Dec. 5: The State Department of Planning and Development, in collaboration with Usha Martin University, is set to host a transformative two-day national conference on ‘Communication and Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): A Key Towards Transformation of World’ on December 7-8.

Finance, Planning and Development Minister Rameshwar Oraon will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Planning Secretary Prashant Kumar and Member Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Government State Planning Commission will also attend the meeting.

SDG indicators in Jharkhand

Chief of UNICEF, Jharkhand, Kainika Mitra, and Social Policy Specialist, UNICEF Jharkhand Omkar Nath Tripathy, will be talking about the status of SDG indicators in Jharkhand.

A team from UNICEF Chhattisgarh will be delivering a lecture on the status of SDGs in Chhattisgarh.

Usha Martin University Chairman Hemant Goyal, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Suresh Garg, and Vice Chancellor Prof. Madhulika Kaushik will also be present to contribute to the conference’s discussions.

The conference is poised to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences among government officials, academicians, media personalities, and professionals.

It will provide a platform for students and faculty members of the department to gain exposure to new trends and ongoing debates related to SDGs. The event aims to spur the development of prospects and initiatives in the crucial area of sustainability.

Quality research papers

According to a release issued by the university, one of the highlights of the conference is the presentation of quality research papers, with the opportunity for their subsequent publication. The conference will be structured around six thematic tracks, each corresponding to a specific SDG i.e. No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Affordable and Clean Energy, Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and Climate Action.

The university anticipates that the conference will foster a collaborative spirit, encouraging the development of innovative solutions and initiatives that contribute to achieving the SDGs. This event promises to be a significant milestone in advancing sustainable development through effective communication and innovation.
