Jamshedpur, March 11: In a recent announcement, senior advocate TN Ojha, a member of the Jamshedpur Bar Association Ad-hoc Committee, has called upon the association’s life members to promptly settle their outstanding dues amounting to approximately Rs 70 lakh for the chambers in the New Bar Building. The outstanding amount has accumulated over the past twelve years and has not been regularly deposited.
According to TN Ojha, the association comprises thousands of life members who are currently deprived of the facilities available to the occupants of the 70 chambers.
Ojha highlighted that despite sending written letters to the responsible executives multiple times, there has been no satisfactory response or resolution. He emphasized that he has also informed the Election Committee 2024 about this matter.
Over the past year, TN Ojha has made persistent efforts to encourage the deposition of the Bar Association’s funds into its account. Some chamber occupants have reportedly agreed in writing to deposit the outstanding amount in instalments.

Ojha expressed disappointment in the previous officials of the Bar Association, stating that they failed in their duties and did not show interest in recovering dues, making them defaulters themselves.
The situation worsened to the extent that even the canteen owner, who owed dues, neglected to pay. Due to his refusal, the electricity connection to the canteen was disconnected.
TN Ojha highlighted the irony that an organization dedicated to upholding justice and fighting against lies and injustice is now grappling with financial chaos.
Ojha asserted that he has diligently worked towards resolving this issue for the past year. He urged fellow lawyers to be aware of the matter and emphasized the legal obligation of the Election Committee to take necessary action in this regard.
The Bar Association hopes that members will cooperate in clearing the outstanding dues to ensure the smooth functioning of the New Bar Building.
