Jamshedpur, October 2: Jharkhand is likely to experience largely dry weather over the next few days, with isolated parts of the state expected to receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers, according to the latest weather forecast.

The weather is likely to remain mainly clear and dry on October 3 and 4. On October 5, partly cloudy skies are expected, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely at isolated places over northeastern Jharkhand.

On October 6, partly cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places over northeastern Jharkhand. On October 7, similar activity may occur over northeastern and southeastern parts of the state.

However, the overall weather outlook suggests that widespread rainfall is unlikely, with generally dry conditions expected to dominate across Jharkhand.

Monsoon Withdrawal Gains Momentum

Meanwhile, atmospheric conditions are becoming increasingly favourable for the further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from Jharkhand.

The India Meteorological Department said the upper-air cyclonic circulation over southeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar has shifted and is now lying over east Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar, extending up to around 3.1 km above mean sea level.

The prevailing synoptic conditions are likely to support the further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from several parts of the country during the next 48 hours.

The withdrawal is expected to advance from the remaining parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, as well as most parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, and the entire Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Jharkhand Enters Post-Monsoon Transition

The monsoon withdrawal process is also likely to extend into some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, marking a further transition towards the post-monsoon weather pattern over the region.

For Jharkhand, the forecast indicates that isolated rain and thundershowers may occur in parts of the state through October 7, but dry weather is likely to remain the dominant pattern as the southwest monsoon continues to retreat.
