Jamshedpur, April 11: In a major breakthrough against the outlawed outfit, CPI-Maoist, as many as 15 Naxals surrendered before the police in the West Singhbhum district headquarters at Chaibasa on Thursday afternoon, triggering a severe blow to the outfit’s leadership.
While top Naxal leaders like Misir Besra, Analda, Segen Angaria and Kande are trying to keep their existence intact by taking refuge in the dense jungle in the Kolhan and Porahat forest division of the district, over a dozen Naxals, several of them hardcore, surrendered Naxals before the police.
Police crackdown leads to mass surrender of Naxals
It is understood that so many Naxals had to resort to surrendering before the police as the police as well as the paramilitary forces continued carrying out a concerted effort to flush the rebels out from the latters’ hideout.

Moreover, several of those surrendered and opted to return to the social mainstream as they were being suppressed and were feeling suffocated under their leaders.
Significantly, all those surrendered today including a minor are residents of West Singhbhum district only.
The Naxals who surrendered
Those surrendered include Pradhan Koda (45), Chandra Mohan alias Chandra Angaria (29), Pagla Gope (49), Vijay Boipai alias Aman Boipai (23), Ganga Ram Purti alias Motka Purti (19), Boya Koda (46), Jogan Koda (44), Pelong Koda alias Nisha Koda (19) wife of Sonu Champia (19), Sonu Champia (19), Ramja Purti alias Dugud Purti (49), Sohan Singh Hembram alias Sinu (24), Doran Champia alias Golmay (23), Sushil Champia alias Moga Champia (40) and Mani Champia (40) wife of Sushil Champia alias Moga Champia.
These rebels surrendered at a function which was attended by the Kohan DIG, Mohan Ratan Chowthe, West Singhbhum deputy commissioner, Kuldeep Chaudhary, superintendent of police, Ashutosh Shekhar and senior officers of CRPF and Jharkhand Jaguar.
