Dhanbad, March 23: Altogether, 250 students of Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro were honoured for their achievements in the Class V graduation ceremony on Saturday.
Dr D K Singh, the vice-chancellor (V-C) of the Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) Ranchi, was the chief guest of the ceremony, while his wife Sarita Sinha was the guest of honour.
Dr Singh while addressing the function highly appreciated the efforts taken by DPS Bokaro in providing holistic education to students and emphasised that the purpose of education is to raise curiosity, explore the unknown and thereby enlighten society.

He shared his insights on the three ‘H’ of education that cater to the head, hand and heart.

The Vice-chancellor urged teachers to answer the ‘Why’ and ‘How’ put forward by the students and pacify their thirst for knowledge. On the occasion, he recalled the inspiring words of the former Missile Man of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, that “Dream is not the thing you see in sleep but is that thing that doesn’t let you sleep”, and asked the students to keep it in mind.

DPS Bokaro principal Dr A S Gangwar said on the occasion that the school is committed to providing the best education to the children from the pre-primary stage. He reminded the children that the world ahead is challenging and every step will create their future. He also urged the parents to spend quality time with their children in the journey of growth. He stressed character building as an essential tool for a successful future.
Earlier in the morning, the function began with the presentation of saplings with the theme ‘Go Green followed by the cultural programme, Rajasthani Dance, and the motivational presentation ‘Aarambh Hai Prachand.
