Ranchi, May 24: Two students of the Faculty of Forestry of Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) bagged first prize at the National level paper presentation contest organised by Agriculture Society of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.
The winners- Biju Roy and Sumit Kumar, 7th-semester students of B Sc (Hons) Forestry participating as a team of two presented their paper on the theme ‘Reorienting agricultural education for a sustainable economy and future’.
Altogether 70 teams representing several agricultural universities, IITs and IIMs participated in the contest organised on May 23-24. The contest was open to undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph D students.

Participants were required to present their paper in 1000-1500 words on any of the specified four themes. Time allotted to each contestant was 8 minutes- 5 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for question & answer.
The winning students were mentored by forestry faculty teachers Dr AK Chakraborty and Dr SMS Quli.
Dr MS Malik, Dean, Faculty of Forestry and Dr BK Agrawal, Director of Students’ Welfare have congratulated the students for their achievement.
