Dhanbad, February 19: BIT Sindri faculty members, BIT Sindri Alumni Association and Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) have congratulated its alumnus Imtiyaz Ahmed for the success of the ambitious satellite INSAT- 3DS.

Faculty members, authorities, and students of BIT Sindri burst into joy as INSAT-ISRO successfully launched Imteyaz Ahmed’s 3DS satellite from Sriharikota on February 17.

Imteyaz Ahmed is the project director of INSAT-3DS. “We feel Proud, Imtiaz,” said BIT Sindri authorities, faculty members and students in a message to him.

UR Rao Satellite Centre, Bangalore

Imtiyaz Ahmed, a 1993-97 batch student, is currently working in UR Rao Satellite Centre, Bangalore as project director of INSAT- 3DS GISAT-2 and GISAT-20 spacecraft, which will be 2nd heaviest satellite built by ISRO.

BIT Sindri Electronics and Communication Engineering department senior faculty member Prof Imteyaz Ahmed said scientist Imteyaz Ahmed completed his B. Tech in 1997 and joined ISRO in 1998 as a scientist. “Two more ambitious projects, GISAT-2 and GISAT-20 of Imteyaz Ahmed, are in the advanced stage, and they will be launched by the end of the year,” said ECE faculty member Prof Imteyaz.

Those who have congratulated the ISRO scientist  BIT Sindri alumnus) are director of Jharkhand University of Technology Dr DK Singh, BIT director Dt Pankaj Rai, Career Development Centre (CDC) chairman Dr Ghanshyam, ECE HoD Dr MG Tiwary, Mayaraj Narayan Ray, Dr Rajiv Ranjan, Dr Imteyaz Ahmed, Dr AP Sinha, Dr Arvind Kumar and other faculty members.

The BIT Alumni Association has also highly praised the success of Imteyaz Ahmed’s ambitious satellite and congratulated him. While congratulating him, Umesh Prasad Sah, Manoj Kumar, Dr Sunil Kumar, Manoj Kumar Lal, Rajiv Kumar and other BIT Sindri Alumni Association members said that he made his Alma mater and all batchmates proud.
