Jharkhand News: BIT Sindri teams win three events at Idea Tribe 2025 competition

 

Ranchi, Nov 29: BIT Sindri teams delivered an outstanding performance by emerging as winners in three events at the final round of the Idea Tribe 2025 Innovation and Startup Competition, organized by the Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), Ranchi.

The winning teams from BIT Sindri—Teramine Creations, Womenity, and Root to Roots—impressed the judges with their innovative concepts.

JUT Ranchi Vice Chancellor Prof. D. K. Singh, who graced the final round as the chief guest, praised the creativity, energy, and efforts of the participating students. He encouraged them to continue developing technological and entrepreneurial solutions that contribute to society.

A total of 30 finalist teams from various engineering institutions across Jharkhand showcased their innovative startup ideas. Earlier this month, BIT Sindri had hosted the zonal round, in which 125 teams from across the state participated.

Winning Teams

Group A Winner – Teramine Creations (BIT Sindri)

The team presented a unique idea of converting mineral and mine waste into handicrafts and useful products, thereby creating livelihood opportunities for tribal women. They secured the 1st prize of ₹10,000.

Group B Winner – Womenity (BIT Sindri)

The Womenity team proposed a low-cost pregnancy care kit designed to provide essential healthcare materials to pregnant women in an affordable and accessible manner. They received a 1st prize seed fund of ₹50,000.

Group B Winner – Root to Roots (BIT Sindri)

Root to Roots is working to promote Jharkhand’s cultural and rural tourism through a homestay model that allows tourists to experience the state’s traditions, lifestyle, and heritage firsthand. The team also received a 1st prize seed fund of ₹50,000.

BIT Sindri Director Prof. Pankaj Rai congratulated all the winning teams, describing their achievement as a matter of immense pride for the institute.

Prof. Prakash Kumar, President of IIC 8.0, said that the dedication and enthusiasm of the students will lead them to greater accomplishments and continue to bring laurels to the institute.

Dr. Rahul Kumar, Convenor of IIC 8.0, expressed happiness over the students’ success and appreciated their commitment and hard work.
