Ranchi, Jan. 8: Chief Minister Hemant Soren reviewed the Budget 2024-25 preparations with officials in the Jharkhand Ministry today.
In the upcoming budget, the chief minister has given special attention to various issues in the state, including infrastructure, education, sports, industry, health, agriculture, electricity, water, roads, housing scheme and pension amount under social security, scholarship to students studying in schools and colleges.
State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon was also present on this occasion.
Special focus
In the meeting, Soren asked the officials to prepare a better budget for the financial year 2024-25, considering the priorities and aspirations of all the people of Jharkhand.

He said that the budget should focus on public welfare and all-round development.
“Strengthening the rural economy is the priority of the state government; continuous work is being done in this regard,” he said.
Jharkhand’s progress
“Work is being done to reach public welfare schemes to villages, agriculture, farmers and youth,” he pointed out.
Emphasising increasing the provisions for employment and self-employment in the budget, he said that the state government is making action plans to strengthen them further in the coming times.
The chief minister said the provisions should be included in the Budget 2024-25 with foresight.
“The welfare of the poor is the aim of our government. We are moving ahead with the thought that the benefits of state government schemes should reach the last person standing in the way of development,” he said.
Special provisions
The chief minister told the officials that the financial year 2024-25 budget includes the promotion of small and cottage industries in the state, provision for MNREGA, increasing employment and self-employment, promotion of sports activities, improvement in women’s health, and improvement in children’s nutrition.
He instructed them to make special provisions in all other vital areas.
The chief minister said there is a need to move forward with new and positive thinking in the upcoming budget.
In the meeting, State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, Chief Secretary L. Khiyangte, Development Commissioner Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary of the Finance Department Ajay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Planning Secretary Prashant Kumar and other officials were present.
