Jharkhand News: East Singhbhum gears up for accessible voting for Ghatshila

 

Jamshedpur, Oct 10: In preparation for the Ghatshila Assembly by-election 2025, the District Monitoring Committee on Accessible Election (DMCAE) held a meeting under the chairmanship of District Election Officer (DEO) Karan Satyarthi at the Collectorate auditorium, Jamshedpur, to ensure smooth and inclusive voting for differently-abled voters.

The meeting focused on strengthening facilities at polling stations and enhancing voter awareness.

The DEO directed officials to ensure the availability of ramps, wheel chairs, toilets, Braille ballots, help desks, and transport facilities at all polling booths.

Volunteers will also be deployed and trained to assist voters on polling day.

Satyarthi stressed that equal opportunity and dignity for every voter remain the administration’s top priority and urged departments to work in co-ordination so that no voter is deprived of a smooth voting experience.
