Daltonganj, April 1: Garhwa district police scripted a sort of history when it went as far as Bhima Varam in Andhra Pradesh where it precisely caught its wanted and prime accused of Naxal violence Rahul Keshri who was living there incognito eking out his earning.

Police had captured two JJMP extremists in last encounter with Keshri

Rahul Keshri was one of the prime combatants of the banned Naxal outfit JJMP during an encounter with the police at Dhengura under the Ranka police station limits.

The officer in charge of the Ranka police station Shankar Prasad Kushwaha was hurt by the JJMP in the encounter.

Garhwa SP Deepak Pandey had given his piece of mind soon after the encounter in which his OC Kushwaha had gun injuries inflicted by the JJMP.

He had told this correspondent, “I and my boys will squeeze space for the JJMP. We will stop time for them.”

Police had then nabbed two of the JJMP ultras after the encounter. The space for the JJMP looked squeezed when the ultra Keshri who had hurt the OC with an Insaas rifle fled to Andhra Pradesh.

Police recover Insaas rifle

Keshri had used a deadly Insaas rifle too against the police and when the JJMP was made to beat a hasty retreat by the police Keshri had hidden the Insaas rifle in the Jasobar jungle under the Ranka police station limits while escaping for life.

So when the Garhwa district police caught Keshri in Andhra Pradesh, the captain of the Garhwa police and others were sanguine to get the Insaas rifle. And the police were not wrong.

Keshri took the police to the place of hiding of the Insaas rifle in the jungle where there was the Insaas rifle with four magazines and four rounds of fire! Police got these all.

Seized weapons of the JJMP

Keshri’s aide Tunesh Oraon was earlier nabbed from Chhattisgarh

Keshri was in a rebel fight with the police at Dhengoora on December 17 last year. His JJMP outfit was led by Tunesh Oraon.

However luck ran out of Tunesh. The Garhwa district police were on his trail. He left Jharkhand and sneaked into Chhattisgarh.

This was another space crunch for the JJMP to take shelter in a different state Chhattisgarh. Keshri fled to Andhra Pradesh. Tunesh to Chhattisgarh. Both were caught finally.

There in Chhattisgarh Tunesh was caught by the local police. His arrest there in this state had backup from district police Garhwa.

The JJMP is devastated but the Garhwa SP Deepak Pandey does not see any scope for any complacency as he told this correspondent “We want a zero Naxal violence polling in Garhwa on May 13 and so every man in uniform has to give his best for a free and fair polling.”
