Jamshedpur, May 20: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections of the St. Mary’s English High School Alumni Association were successfully held, witnessing robust participation from 800 alumni across India and abroad.
The event, conducted by the students of the Alumni Association, saw an active engagement and a seamless voting process facilitated online via Google Forms.
In a closely contested election, Gursharan Singh’s team emerged victorious. Gursharan Singh was elected as the President, with Saurabh Singh assuming the role of Secretary, and Rajeev Ranjan appointed as Treasurer.
In his victory speech, Gursharan Singh expressed his commitment to elevating the Association’s stature and supporting the needy through charitable initiatives, emphasizing a collaborative approach to strengthen the Association.

The newly elected President, Singh, announced plans to expand his team to ensure a broad representation and effective functioning of the Association. He highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation among members to achieve common goals and enhance the Association’s impact.
Over the past year, the Alumni Association has organized numerous programs, including cricket and football tournaments and blood donation camps. These events have not only fostered camaraderie among alumni but also contributed significantly to social causes, benefiting those in need. The collective efforts and support from the association’s members have been instrumental in these successes.
The AGM saw participation from alumni spanning various batches, including distinguished members from the class of 1976 and earlier. Prominent attendees included Pritpal Singh, Mahinderpal Singh, Naeem Bux, Madan Gupta, Shashi Tiwari, and Ashwin Chhabra. Their presence added a touch of nostalgia and continuity, bridging generations of St. Mary’s alumni.
Gursharan Singh extended his heartfelt gratitude to all members for their support and trust. He acknowledged the hard work of the outgoing committee and promised to build on their legacy.
His vision for the Association includes more frequent and impactful events, increased charitable activities, and enhanced engagement with the broader alumni network.
