Daltonganj, April 7: The issue of licence for Ramnavmi and Muharram was raised at the peace committee meeting held today in the premises of the town police station.
On this issue, the officer in charge of the town police station Deobrata Poddar asked the concerned community to apply for the issue of the license.
License is issued in the name of the individual and is not transferable.
The peace meet gained importance in the wake of the rumblings in the Sri Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal where there took place a change of guard.
Pankaj Kumar Jaiswal became the General of the Sri Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal replacing Durga Johri who held the post of the General of the Sri Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal for many years.
The transition from Johri to Jaiswal was smooth but it broke a long tradition of dispute free selection of the General.
SDPO Sadar Mani Bhushan Prasad has a reputation for attending such meet with seriousness as he never skips such a meeting.

Officer in charge of the town police station Deobrata Poddar learning from his past experience of holding his first peace meet ahead of the Holi festival here was very intelligently careful this time to stick to the time frame.
This peace meet was slated for 2 in the post noon today which started 40 minutes late and here police officer Poddar had to put his best leg forward as his first peace meet had got delayed by 2 hours. He reduced the 2 hours delay to 40 minutes delay at this peace meet.
The peace meet focussed on the festive atmosphere following the Pran Prathishta of the Lord Ram Lalla in UP.
Ramnavmi and Muharram are the occasions where people of both sides try to impress with more muscle power on each side. Swords are the common weapon of both these festivals.
It’s model code of conduct now and hence reasonable exhibition of mandatory weapon swords has to be ensured.
Palamu administration is watchful that this festival is not attuned to any political gain.
There is a very delicate and thin line now between religion and politics and such mass festivals like Ramnavmi and Muharram are the embodiment of the mix.
Caution note was raised for pavement shop keepers when passage of Ramnavmi procession is to pass as no two sides should feel any pinch of the inconvenience.
Muharram Inteezamiya committee assured the new General Pankaj Kumar Jaiswal of the Sri Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal of all help and cooperation.
The peace meet saw a spirited sloganeering for Jai Sri Ram in the peace meet. Mangla Juloos was discussed as this Juloos is sensitive to community peace. Mangla Juloos and Chand Raat (the night moon is sighted for the Eid) were juxtaposed with each other in the peace meet.
The new General of Sri Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal Pankaj Kumar Jaiswal was modest in his speech and he recounted how there are too many bottlenecks in the route passage of the Ramnavmi procession.
