Ranchi, May 17: Dr Nandani Kumari, Assistant Professor of Birsa Agricultural University has been appointed Eastern Region Convenor of Lady Vet Wing of the Indian Veterinary Association (IVA).
Dr Nandani an expert of animal genetics and breeding
For the last three years, she has been working as Jharkhand Convenor of IVA to safeguard the interest and promote the cause of lady veterinarians.
Dr Nandani has been teaching animal genetics and breeding in BAU for nearly a decade. She has to her credit 10 technical books, a poetry collection and 32 research papers. She is also a Yoga Trainer certified by Indian Yoga Association.

Dr Laxmi Srinivasan, National Convenor of IVA Lady Wing informed that the appointment has been ratified by Dr Umesh Chandra Sharma, National President of IVA. Dr Sharma is President of Veterinary Council of India (VCI) also.
IVA an apex organisation of veterinarians
The IVA, set up in 1922 and having its headquarters at Chennai is an apex organization of over sixty thousand veterinarians spread across the country.
Its mouth organ Indian Veterinary Journal is being published from 1924 onwards.
Controlling the epizootics among animals, containment of communicable diseases, food safety of animal origin, encouraging and supporting veterinary education and research, safeguarding the dignity, rights, interests and future prospects of veterinarians are primary areas of attention of IVA.
