Jharkhand News: Jeevan’s volunteer training programme kicks off in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 16: In a bid to bolster community support systems, Jeevan, the suicide prevention centre, launched a comprehensive refresher training programme aimed at enhancing mental health support networks. Held over two days at SNTI, N Road, Bistupur, the event brought together volunteers eager to make a difference.

Led by esteemed trainers Dr. Jeoraj Jain, director of Jeevan, Shankar Narayanan, and Manjit, the programme delved into various aspects of befriending, communication and grief support. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, role plays and discussions, honing their skills to provide empathetic and effective assistance.

The training programme not only equips volunteers with practical tools but also emphasizes the importance of confidentiality, referrals and self-care. With a focus on fostering a culture of support and understanding, Jeevan aims to create resilient communities capable of facing life’s challenges.

The enthusiasm and dedication exhibited by volunteers reflect a growing awareness of mental health issues and a collective commitment to building a more compassionate society.

Jeevan, recognized as a beacon of hope, has consistently endeavoured to extend compassionate assistance to individuals facing mental health challenges. Emphasizing the importance of collective support, the organization urges every citizen of Jharkhand to play a proactive role in raising awareness and promoting mental well-being.

For individuals encountering mental health issues or in need of emotional support, Jeevan offers a lifeline of assistance, available 365 days a year from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Confidentiality is guaranteed, ensuring a safe space for individuals to seek help without fear of judgment or stigma.
