Jamshedpur, May 20: A 30-year-old youth was found lying murdered near Rainasa level-crossing under Gamharia thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district about 15 km away from here on Monday morning.

The murder victim was identified as Lalu Pradhan, who was a resident of Jhargovindur in Gamharia and a land broker.

Police suspect land dispute as motive

According to police, two men, Arvind and Shashi who are also residents of the same village where Lalu Pradhan lived and would do the same business as the murder victim are suspected to have committed the murder.

Both Arvind and Shashi are absconding.

According to the police, Lalu had a serious quarrel with the two suspects over dealing with a plot of land located somewhere in Gamharia recently.

“Both Shashi and Arvind had called Lalu from his house to discuss about the conflicting issue late on Sunday night. But at the Raibasa level-crossing where they had told Lalu to come for the discussion, they were prepared with lethal weapons to attack the victim.  Eventually, as soon as Lalu appeared there, the two might have hacked him to death, ” said a police officer who is a part of the investigating police team told The Jharkhand Story.

The two suspects have since been absconding, leading the police to try to trace them.

As the matter came to light this morning, sensation gripped the Jhargovindur village.
