Jharkhand News: MGMMCH lady clerk killed in road mishap caused by autorickshaw in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 29: A 27-year-old girl who was a clerk at the MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) succumbed to her injuries at Tata Main Hospital on Wednesday morning.

Identified as Pinki Kumari, the girl was fatally injured on being hit by an autorickshaw on NH-33 under the Mango thana area on Sunday evening.

A resident of Samta Nagar in Mango, the girl was sitting pillion on a Scooty with her fiancee during a joyride from her house to Dimna Chowk in the evening when the mishap took place.

In fact, three local autorickshaw drivers were on a rashing spree on the stretch of the national highway by driving at a breakneck speed. Incidentally, one of the unruly autorickshaws hit the Scooty from behind causing the girl to fall down with grievous head injuries.

The victim’s fiancee who had escaped with minor injury had rushed to Tata Main Hospital in a critical condition. At the hospital, the victim struggled for her life during the past two days and ultimately she succumbed to her injuries early this morning.

The victim’s family members said being a government employee Pinki was deputed on election duty till Saturday evening and she wanted to pass some quality time with her fiancee on Sunday evening.

BJP leader demands to identify Autorickshaw that hit Scooty

A local BJP leader, Vikash Singh visited Tata Main Hospital and also the victim’s house getting news of the demise of a promising girl in a road accident.

Later while talking to the newsmen, Singh said the local administration is responsible for the fatal mishap.

“The national highway or any other road is meant for smooth vehicular communication and not for things like vehicle racing. I will meet the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner shortly and demand the administration to identify the autorickshaw drivers in question for taking stern action against them so that such misadventure may not be repeated in future ” said Singh while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
