Dhanbad, Jan 17: Paramedical students today  protested and held a massive demonstration at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital  SNMMCH) Dhanbad, Rajendra Institute of  Medical Science (RIMS) Ranchi and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College Hospital (MGMMCH) Jamshedpur against 15 days training programme of the health department.

The Paramedical Staff Association and Paramedical students of the three medical colleges said that giving a Diploma certificate to Lab Technician and X-ray technician certificate after providing 15 days’ training is a fake training course and it must be stopped immediately.

Protest at MGMMCH Jamshedpur

“We get admission to medical college through the JCECEB. After two years’ course and one year internship we get a diploma certificate. Thereafter, we are registered with the Jharkhand State Paramedical Council. But these contractual staff are being given this certificate only on 15 days’ training. It is illegal,” said Raju Mahto, secretary of the Jharkhand Paramedical Association.
