Latehar, May 30: Latehar Police have arrested active PLFI Naxal Vishnu Oraon, who was involved in multiple extortion and firing cases targeting contractors and businessmen. He was sent to jail on Friday following his arrest.

SDPO Arvind Kumar informed that SP Kumar Gaurav had received intelligence indicating that Vishnu was issuing threats to contractors using the PLFI name.

Acting on the tip-off, a police team launched a raid and arrested him. A mobile phone used for making extortion threats was also recovered.

The raid was carried out by a team consisting of Sub-Inspector Ravindra Kumar Singh of Chandwa police station and armed personnel from SAT-44.
The arrested militant, a resident of Khalbi Tola in Bhardgaon, Gumla district, had been on the run after being involved in incidents such as the April 4 firing on Santosh Singh’s crusher at Hadgadwa, demanding levy at Firoz Ahmed’s brick kiln, and shooting the kiln’s accountant.

Notably, four other PLFI members involved in the same cases had already been arrested and sent to jail on May 15. Vishnu had managed to evade arrest until now.
