Dhanbad, April 13: In a notable reshuffle at BIT Sindri, Prof Prafulla Kumar Sharma has been appointed the new Head of the Department (HoD) of Civil Engineering, succeeding Dr Jitu Kujur, whose term concluded on Saturday.

The transition of leadership was marked by a formal ceremony attended by faculty and staff members. During the event, Dr Brahmdeo Yadav, Associate Professor, was also entrusted with the role of Senior Administrative Officer of the institute.

Outgoing HoD Dr Jitu Kujur reflected on his tenure and praised Prof Sharma’s capabilities. “I’m confident that under Prof Sharma’s leadership, the department will continue to thrive and reach new milestones,” he said during the handover.

Faculty Members Extend Congratulations

The ceremony was graced by the presence of senior faculty and non-teaching staff, all of whom congratulated Prof Sharma on his new role. Senior-most professor Dr U.K. Singh highlighted Prof Sharma’s popularity among students and colleagues. “His approachable nature and academic vision make him the ideal choice to lead the department forward,” he remarked.

Commitment to Excellence

Prof Sharma, in his address, expressed gratitude and a strong sense of duty. “I will carry out this responsibility with sincerity and commitment. My focus will remain on upholding the moral values of the institution and advancing both the department and the interests of our students,” he stated.

Notable Attendees

Several prominent faculty members, including Dr Maya Rajnarayan Rai, Dr Nishikant Kishku, Dr Prasant Ranjan Malviya, Dr Iqbal Sheikh, Dr Komal Kumari, Dr Abhijit Anand, and Dr Saroj Meena, also extended their congratulations to Prof Sharma.
