Ranchi, Dec 20: The Ranchi Civil Court has denied relief to retired DDC Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, accused of sexually exploiting a woman for 16 years under the pretext of marriage.
The court of Additional District Judge Manish Ranjan rejected the anticipatory bail petition filed by Arvind Kumar Chaudhary. The court also rejected the anticipatory bail petition of his son, Manish Anand.
The woman was represented in court by Supreme Court lawyer Shishir Raj, who stated that she hails from Namkum.

The woman, a widow, first met Arvind Kumar Chaudhary in 2008 in connection with a job. Arvind, an officer stationed in Pakur, promised her a job and called her to meet. He then took her to a hotel and sexually exploited her.
When the woman protested, he promised to marry her. During this time, Arvind claimed to be unmarried and continued his contact with her.
After being transferred to Lohardaga, Arvind called the woman again and had physical relations with her. In 2012, Arvind Kumar retired from his position as DDC.
