Dhanbad, March 14: A team from the West Bengal Income Tax (IT) department on Thursday morning began a search operation in the house of industrialist Vikash Gandyal in the Chirkunda area, around 48 km from the Dhanbad district headquarters, near the Jharkhand-West Bengal border.

Vikash Dandyal’s house is in Chirkunda of Jharkhand but he runs cement and iron bars factories in different places in West Bengal.

The officials of the IT department reached the base house of  Vikash Dandyal at around  6 am in three vehicles and began a search for papers after locking the gate of the building from outside. Central forces were deployed outside the building.

The IT officials said that they had come from Bengal for assessment. At 12 noon, they were still inside Vikash Dandyal’s house. No one, even a domestic helper, was allowed to enter.
