Dhanbad, April 10: A woman and her minor daughter were injured in an acid attack over a land dispute near Laludih Road under Hariharpur police station around 40 km away from Dhanbad district headquarters on Wednesday morning.

The injured mother and daughter were referred to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad after first aid treatment. The medical officer in charge of Topchachi Community Health Centre (CHC), Dr Ashutosh Kumar Singh, said that four patients, two with head injury cases and two with acid burn injuries, had come in the morning and were referred to SNMMCH.
A doctor at SNMMCH said mother Rita Gupta has a burn injury on her back while her daughter Nandani’s right hand has been burnt.

Lav Narayan Swarnkar and Gopal Kumar Soni received a head injury in the bloody scuffle.

Hariharpur police station officer-in-charge Girdhar Gopal said that the bloody scuffle took place over a land dispute. The police are investigating the matter. Both sides have complained to the police station.
Victim Rita Gupta alleged that Binod Mahto and Rahul Mahto were constructing buildings on her land. When she protested, they, along with 15 other persons laced with sticks, attacked and sprayed acid.
