Ranchi, Aug 18: The Jharkhand Non-Gazetted Employees Federation has given written assurance of support to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) director Dr. Raj Kumar for his initiatives aimed at employee welfare and institutional improvement.
A three-member delegation comprising Federation state general secretary Ashok Kumar Singh ‘Nayan’ and RIMS Health Employees Association leaders Sushant Kumar Sahu and Dhirendra Prasad met Dr. Raj Kumar in his chamber on Monday. They also submitted a five-point charter of demands.

Director Gains Support Amid Dispute
Dr. Raj Kumar, who has been engaged in a standoff with the state health minister and the health department, received such support for the first time. The matter is currently pending in the High Court.

“We assured Dr. Raj Kumar that RIMS employees will always stand with him in any step he takes for the welfare of staff,” said Ashok Kumar Singh. The director, in response, assured that he would make every effort to address the demands and ensure staff welfare.

Key Demands Raised
Among the demands presented, two major issues were highlighted: introducing facility and service regulations for RIMS staff on par with AIIMS New Delhi, and abolishing the mandatory Hindi noting draft for technical staff.
