Daltonganj, Nov 10: A fleet of 227 polling parties out of the total of 1796 will be rolling out for their respective booths on November 11 itself.

This mechanism for two days advance dispatch of the polling parties is called P minus 2 in electoral lingo.

It is solely done for the reasons of safety and security as these 227 booths are in such a locale which has an undisputed history of vulnerability.

The breakup of the 227 polling parties for the 5 assembly constituencies is as such – 9 in the Panki assembly constituency, 12 in the Bishrampur assembly constituency, 92 in the Chhaterpur assembly constituency, 62 in the Hussainabad assembly constituency and 47 in the Daltonganj assembly constituency.

Deputy Development Commissioner Shabbir Ahmad said, “Our 227 polling parties will roll out on Monday. All necessary arrangements have been made. We have ensured that our polling parties face no inconvenience.”

Similarly, there will be two air sorties from the Chiyanki Hawai adda for 9 polling stations falling under the Bhandarya and Bargar police station limits in Garhwa district which are the components of the Daltonganj assembly constituency.

The air dropping of the polling parties will be for booths at Bijka, Kulhi and Madgari Cha.

Sources said there are 3 polling stations at Bijka, 1 polling station at Kulhi and 5 at Madgari Cha.

DDC Shabbir Ahmad said polling parties defined for air dropping are to take flight early morning on Monday.

Ahmad said, “The morale of the polling officials and personnel is very high. The successful conduct of the Lok Sabha election has come as a shot in the arm of the officials and personnel here who are determined and committed to having a fair voting this Vidhan Sabha election too.”

There will be only 49 polling booths out of the 1796 booths, where voting will be from 7 a.m. a.m. to 4 pm in the district of Palamu.

Further, there will be additional polling personnel for a total of 376 booths out of the 1796 booths here in this district.

The additional polling personnel will be 1 each at 88 booths in the Panki assembly constituency, 72 in Daltonganj assembly constituency, 87 in Bishrampur assembly constituency, 64 in Chhaterpur assembly constituency and 65 in Hussainabad assembly constituency.

DDC Shabbir Ahmad said the ECI has made this facility of additional polling personnel for booths having 1200 or plus voters.
