Jamshedpur, Nov 23: BJP candidate and former Union minister Arjun Munda’s wife Meera Munda suffered a defeat in the Potka assembly constituency.
JMM candidate Sanjeev Sardar defeated her by a margin of 27,093 votes. Sanjeev Sardar got a total of 1,18,842 votes, while Meera Munda got 91,749 votes.
A tremendous fight was seen in the Potka assembly constituency of East Singhbhum district.
In the initial phase of counting, Meera Munda was leading by a huge margin over her nearest rival JMM’s Sanjeev Sardar.

It seemed that her victory from here was inevitable, but the situation changed after the 11th round of counting.
Meera Munda, who was leading by about 19000 votes, was given a tough fight by Sanjeev Sardar.
After the 18th round, Sanjeev Sardar took a lead of 18,773 votes over Meera Munda.
After this, he maintained his lead. After the 20th round of counting, Sanjeev Sardar was ahead by 25,304 votes and the situation became clear after the 21st and final round of counting.
