Jamshedpur, Nov 23: JMM further strengthened its footprint in West Singhbhum as it won four seats of West Singhbhum- Chaibasa, Majhgaon, Chakradharpur and Manoharpur- and its ally Congress won the Jagannathpur seat.

In the Jagannathpur assembly constituency, BJP candidate Geeta Koda, wife of former chief minister Madhu Koda, lost by a margin of 7,383 votes at the end of the 17th and the final round.

She faced a defeat at the hands of Congress candidate Sona Ram Sinku.

Jagannathpur (54)- after 17 rounds

Sona Ram Sinku (Congress): 57,065 Votes

Geeta Koda (BJP): 49,682 Votes

Chakradharpur (56) – after 17 rounds

Sukhram Oraon (JMM): 58,193 votes

Shashi Bhushan Samad (BJP): 48,890 votes

*BJP candidate Samad lost by 9,303 votes

Majhgaon (53)- after 20 rounds

Niral Purty (JMM): 94,163 votes

Barkunwar Gagrai (BJP): 34,560 votes

*BJP candidate Gagrai lost by  59, 603 votes

Manoharpur (55)- after 19 rounds

Jagat Majhi (JMM): 73,034 votes

Dinesh Chandra Boipai (AJSU): 41,078 votes

Chaibasa (52)- after 21 rounds

Deepak Birua (JMM): 107,367 votes

Geeta Balmuchu (BJP): 42,532 votes
