Dhanbad, Nov 12: Special election squads in Dhanbad seized a total of Rs 36.85 lakh during intensive checks across various police station areas over the past 24 hours.
Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Madhvi Mishra provided the details, noting that one team seized Rs 28.50 lakh, while another squad confiscated Rs 1.30 lakh under the Bank More police station. In addition, Rs 5.15 lakh was seized under the Dhanbad Sadar police station, and Rs 1.90 lakh was recovered at the Chirkunda interstate check post.
“For conducting fair and free assembly elections in the district, 16 check posts have been set up, and 63 teams each from the SFT and SST are deployed to conduct checks across Dhanbad,” said Madhvi Mishra.

The assembly elections in Dhanbad district are scheduled for November 20 in the second phase.
Total Rs 2.17 crore seized till Nov 11
The Deputy Commissioner also stated that a total of Rs 2.17 crore has been seized in Dhanbad since the election notification.
Mishra further mentioned that there have been 27 complaints filed through C-Vigil, with three of them leading to action. “As the polling date approaches, comprehensive checking, especially at check posts, has been intensified,” the DC added.
