Ranchi, April 3, 2025: Rajasthan and Odisha Foundation Day celebrations were held at Raj Bhavan, Ranchi, in the presence of Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar. The event witnessed the participation of residents from Rajasthan and Odisha currently living in Jharkhand.

Governor Highlights Cultural and Historical Legacy

Addressing the gathering, the Governor noted that due to prior engagements, Raj Bhavan had been unable to commemorate these state foundation days earlier. He emphasized the rich cultural, historical, and social heritage of both Rajasthan and Odisha, acknowledging Rajasthan’s famed bravery, architectural marvels, and renowned regions such as Mewar, Marwar, and Jaipur.

Similarly, he praised Odisha’s spiritual and cultural significance, citing the revered Jagannath Temple, the iconic Konark Sun Temple, Puri’s Rath Yatra festival, and the classical Odissi dance as representations of the state’s glorious legacy.

He underscored the importance of such celebrations in strengthening national unity under the ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative.

Special Messages from Odisha and Rajasthan Governors

The event also featured a video message from the Governor of Odisha and a formal reading of a message from the Governor of Rajasthan.

Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Nitin Kulkarni, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of Rajasthan’s contributions to India’s freedom struggle and its crucial role in the defence forces. He also noted Odisha’s mineral wealth, drawing a parallel with Jharkhand.

The celebrations at Raj Bhavan once again reflected the spirit of unity and cultural pride, reinforcing the essence of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.’
